Tutors must attend all sessions to complete the basic literacy training.  Please note that tutors will travel from the Largo site to our Hyattsville office during the last session.  Pre-registration, a completed tutor profile, and $30 book/registration fee must be received by July 15. Click here to register online.  ** There will be no training sessions in August. **

The Literacy Council of Prince George’s County, MD, Inc. is currently seeking community members to serve on its Board of Directors.

LCPGC seeks a diverse membership of individuals committed to our mission of adult literacy and lifelong learning in Prince George’s County. Our programs strengthen the literacy skills necessary to gain personal, parental, and economic empowerment; civic responsibility; and technological proficiency.

Specifically, LCPGC encourages those with experience in education, event planning, marketing and promotions, accounting/finance, law/compliance, fundraising, and nonprofit development and human resources to apply. 

Board members are expected to attend board and committee meetings, perform advocacy, as well as participate in programs and initiatives.
All appointments, which are unpaid, are subject to Nominations Committee review, interview and recommendation as well as Board approval.
