SB 203 Passes: SB 203, which moves Maryland's Office of Adult Education & Literacy Services from the Department of Education to the Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation, passes.  The move will affect Family Literacy, Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, and Corrections Education programs.  See how your representatives voted.

The Literacy Council of Prince George's County empowers adult learners to realize their full potential as contributing members of their families and communities by providing services in acquiring, improving, and applying basic literacy skills. 

Our comprehensive program includes the following: one-on-one tutoring, computer-assisted learning, GED classes, Pre-GED classes, Basic Reading and Literacy classes, ESOL classes and an External Diploma Program.  We are able to offer classes and tutoring services without charge because of the generous support of individual, organizational, corporate and government funding.

The Literacy Council Front Desk is covered from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Mondays to Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
